□ History:
Goku is a heretic born of a stone egg, whose unreleased powers are said to rival those of Heaven. He's not a demon, human, or god, and his existence was feared as it was thought to bring chaos and destruction. Because of this, he was captured sometime after his birth, shackled and brought to Heaven, where he was fitted with a specialized power limiter. Later he was brought before the Merciful Goddess. There he met her nephew, Konzen Douji, a lower deity who did mostly paperwork. At first glance, Goku was enthralled by his hair, which he said was like the sun. Unfortunately, he accidentally tugged several strands out and provoked Konzen's anger, which amused the Merciful Goddess and she put Goku under his care.
This didn't start out smoothly, as Goku was easily bored and would sometimes amuse himself by making paper animals from Konzen's documents and Konzen really didn't seem to want him around. But he did befriend Tenpou, Konzen's best friend, who treated him kindly and insisted on being called Ten-chan. He also met the war prince, Nataku, while they were both hiding after mischief. He became quickly attached to Nataku, who was close to his age and they quickly bonded, deciding to play together sometime. He later met Kenren, Ken-niisan, while running from some guards and after seeking out Nataku, in which the general helped him by claiming Goku was his illegitimate son and led him away from the stunned onlookers.
Wanting a name to be able to tell Nataku when they did play again, Goku pestered Konzen for one until he was given the name Goku. He also pestered Konzen to go to the celebration for the Jade Emperor's birthday, where he got separated from Konzen and into a fight with some gods who attempted to bully him for being a heretic. Kenren and Tenpou fought alongside him, and when Konzen caught up to them the group left as an "apology" for the trouble caused. There were times he played with Kenren, and times that he helped Kenren clean and organize Tenpou's office as well. He even went and picked flowers to put in a vase to decorate Konzen's office.
When he finally got to see Nataku again, his friend had been injured in a mission to the lower world and fainted in his arms. After that, Goku stayed beside his bed until he woke up. They made a plan for Nataku to show him a secret spot once he'd recovered. It was a little while before he got to see him again, though he tried to deliver a flower necklace he'd made to him...which he left with a woman who promised to deliver it to Nataku, but tossed it in the trash before Goku was even fully out of sight.
When he did finally get to see his friend again, Nataku's father ordered him to kill Goku. Angered, Goku attacked the man, but was stopped by Nataku, who told him he'd kill anyone who hurt his father no matter who it was. Kenren and tenpou attempted to stand between Nataku and Goku but were no match for the war prince. Goku wouldn't fight though, only smiling at him and telling him his name finally. This caused Nataku to lower his blade, before abruptly turning it on himself and impaling himself through the throat. Distraught, he tried to wake Nataku, before his father picked his body up and turned to leave up with the words "I can still use this", which angered Goku further. He tried to attack again, but was pinned by several of the lesser gods present.
His limiter broke under the weight of his anger and grief and he transformed, the energy from the transformation alone enough to wipe out the gods directly around him. Within seconds he'd slain a large number of the lesser gods present in the room and seriously injured Nataku's father, even having taken one of his eyes. It was the Merciful Goddess who knocked him out, but Konzen who stopped her from killing him.
As he recovered, the strain of the transformation was having a negative effect on his body, possibly because he was so young, but he eventually woke and soon attacked the first person he saw...Konzen. Konzen didn't struggle or try to escape, but spoke to him and held him close until a new limiter formed on he head and he passed out.
When he woke later the same night, he wanted to see Tenpou and Kenren, so Konzen dressed him and took him. Goku already knew they were all in trouble, but expressed that he didn't care where they went from that point on as long as they all stayed together, making them promise not to "disappear" like Nataku had.
The next day, as the Heavenly army was raiding the building they had been holed up in, the four of them and the hostage, Goujun who had been taken so they could escape immediately after Konzen saved Goku from the Merciful Goddess, used a secret passage to enter the palace with the intent to use the dimensional gate and escape to the lower world. They left Goujun behind so he wouldn't be implicated as as accomplice and pressed on. When they were corned and about to be shot to death by archers, Kenren and Tenpou's troop appeared to save them, allowing the to escape...but not before Tenpou killed the opposing general and then ordered his troops not to leave a single enemy alive.
Fighting their way to an elevator but using the service stairs instead as the support cable was cut shortly after they started down the stairs. When cornered there, Goku took a blow to protect Konzen, which knocked him off of the stairs and into the shaft. He woke moment a later to find Konzen holding him while they both hung from the elevator cable and tried to tell him to let him go, but Konzen wouldn't. They were saved by Kenren and Tenpou, though Konzen nearly fell to his death, and escaped the stairs through a ventilation shaft.
The shaft led them to a series of cages in a lab below the palace, where a man who sided with Nataku's dad released the monsters inside, which were failed versions of Nataku, on them. Kenren stayed behind to let Goku, Konzen, and Tenpou escape and the man was killed by one of the Natakus trying to Tenpou. As they neared the gate, Tenpou broke off from them to lure away the guards, and Konzen had to briefly console Goku before they could continue.
The two of them reached the gate, but the password to access it was changed and Nataku's dad cornered them with a bunch of soldiers. With Konzen's life at risk and the man's interest in using Goku to revive Nataku, Goku had been willing to turn himself over to him. A tremor shook the building though and the ceiling caved in and crushed nearly everyone. When Konzen woke him the gate had been opened and they ran for it. It began to close though and Konzen pushed him through while getting caught inside the doors. Before disintegrating due to the gate's properties, Konzen swore to find him again and this time be the one to reach out to him.
Stricken by grief, Goku remained at the gate even after his limiter broke, huddled in the exact spot he'd been in since Konzen's death. It's not clear for how long he stayed that way, but the Merciful Goddess commented that if he'd been a normal person he'd not have lasted as long as he had. She went on to question if he was intending to die there and waste his friends' sacrifices. He eventually attacked her, but she only hugged him close and said for his friends that they had been glad to meet him. She created another limiter and sealed the memories in his mind, but not in his soul, leaving him only his name as an act of mercy.
He was imprisoned in a stone cage at the top of a mountain where no one ever traveled, and didn't understand why he was there. He saw no one and didn't know how long he'd been there or if he would ever be freed. At one time a little bird found its way into the cage and it was his friend for awhile, but one day he woke to find it dead, possibly from old age as it was shown just laying on its side appearing unhurt, just outside the bars where he couldn't reach it no matter how hard he tried or how much he cried. After that, things returned to how they had been before the bird...quiet and extremely lonely.
□ Personality:
While not particularly thought-driven and therefore not too bright, Goku is generally a cheerful kid, despite the world's treatment of him. One to try and get along with others unless given reason not to, he doesn't care what a person is and looks instead at who they are. He's easy to befriend and can quickly forge strong bonds with people, even though that doesn't mean he'll always get along with them. He's appreciative of kindness and perfectly willing to help people he finds that he likes, even with menial tasks or things he doesn't normally do himself, like cleaning. He's usually kind of careless and very untidy.
Because of his isolation, he doesn't like to be alone for long periods of time and may doubt and worry if he doesn't see his friends as usual for a long period without explanation. He has a fear of being isolated or left behind while the people he's close to move on, especially because the loneliness reminds him of his captivity. Throughout the entire series it pops up several times where he's somehow forced to relive the solitude and has an extremely negative effect on him. It was also the case that after his release he immediately feared abandonment the first night Sanzo didn't come to visit him.
Because of the instance with the little bird he'd befriended dying just outside of his reach and his potential to forge strong bonds, he doesn't react well to the serious injuries or deaths of people he's made a connection with. He is ultimately willing to do just about anything to save his loved ones when there's even a chance that he can. He doesn't like to see anyone innocent or just not a bad person hurt or killed, but the grief and concern for the ones he loves will cause him to become somewhat hysterical. This is especially true of him just being unable to do anything, even get to them, as is shown various times through the series and especially with the bird during his captivity. There's even an instance much later where he's trapped within an endlessly looping dream of meeting the bird and then it being dea just outside his cage.
He dislikes being inactive for long periods. Some things he likes are: flowers, small animals, making friends, and the occasional mischief. Even the simple times with his friends are valued greatly and they matter more to him than anything else. He likes to share things that have made him happy or just things to share with his friends. It could be a bunch of oranges, flowers he picked, a nice view, or a secret place.
Despite his normally cheerful nature, Goku can be quick-tempered when he's given a reason to dislike someone such as unnecessary mean behavior. He can also oftentimes get upset or annoyed when his lack of intelligence is constantly the butt of the joke or used to explain away his suspicions of foul play. Such cases often lead to squabbling if not outright fighting.
Food is constantly on his mind because his body is making up for what it wasn't getting in his imprisonment, which is supported by the fact he rarely ever complained about hunger prior to that. He doesn't handle extremely spicy things well though.
He does like to fight, but it's generally more like a game to him rather than malice. He won't do any unneeded damage usually, it's just the thrill of testing his strength against a strong opponent that excites him. Even in a fight where he's driven by anger or has to kill, he'll just get it over with for the most part and not draw it out longer than needed.
His other personality is his opposite and almost completely lacks sanity or reason. The Seiten Taisei is a merciless, aggressive berserker who seems to be completely without fear and enjoys causing others pain, to the extent that he's willing to continue attacking his victims even after they're defeated and helpless. He's often smiling maliciously or very serious and can't, or won't, distinguish between friend or foe even though he does seem to go after the enemy first, as well as anything that gets between him and them.
At the current point in canon he does seem to actually have deeper emotions, and the words of certain people sometimes appear to reach him. After his first transformation he later attacked Konzen, but Konzen was able to still him with words and closeness. When he emerged after Konzen's death, he remained huddled in the spot where it had happened and did not move until the Merciful Goddess provoked him. Even while attacking her, he was shedding tears and stopped fighting when she held him. When he transformed and attacked Sanzo for the first time after being found and was subdued, he cried and said he had been afraid Sanzo had moved on without him, before his limiter was restored...this last example is also the only known time Seitan Taisei speaks in the entire series.
It could be that something about the limiter itself combined with the stress of the circumstances surrounding his first transformation is why he's so aggressive when it's removed. The Seiten Taisei also seems to be a little less violent toward those not his originally intended target and seems a bit more to be acting on whatever agitated him in the first place. The first time he transforms around Sanzo after being freed he punches a hole through a wall which scares the monks who had captured him away while he does nothing further, and then he is still for several moments before attacking Sanzo. This could be because the extreme violence that he later displays indiscriminately during the journey west might come from the effects of the Minus Wave that corrupted all the demons except Goku, Gojyo, and Hakkai. Every time he transforms during the journey west he attacks anything in his area with next to no hesitation or remorse.
It was stated that Goku had actually liked the denizens of the lower world better than most of those in Heaven when brought there, finding the lower world overall kinder. This could not have been the case if Seiten Taisei was always cruel and violent, as his powers weren't contained by the limiter until his capture and arrival in Heaven. It's likely then that originally Seiten Taisei's nature was the one shown naturally by Goku.
□ Age: 13-14 (300+)
□ Gender: Male
□ Appearance:
Goku's a short and very slim boy standing about five foot, with tan skin and long brown hair that reaches just below his waist. His eyes are gold in color, giving the fact he's a heretic away to anyone who knows of that trait. He wears a golden diadem on his forehead to keep the Seiten Taisei restrained, as well as heavy shackles with chains that aren't connected around his neck, wrists, and ankles. They were estimated to weigh about 220 lbs all together. He also wears an almost black, sleeveless top, and almost white jeans that are tattered at the cuffs.
As the Seiten Taisei, Goku's nails grow into long claws, his ears become longer and pointed, he grows fangs, and his pupils become slitted. If his hair had been cut then it grows back to its original waist-length. He also gains a black tattoo-like demon mark above his navel, shaped like a sun.
□ Abilities/Powers:
Goku is incredibly strong and agile, able to hold his own in a fight and even bend steel bars or punch and crack stone, despite his small size. This strength allows him to move around while wearing over 200 lbs in shackles as though it were nothing. He is also very resilient and can also take more damage than a normal person.
When his limiter is removed and he reverts to the Seiten Taisei, his physical strength and speed increase drastically, to the point that he can move faster than can be seen and even bite through steel effortlessly. Most normal opponents can be killed or disabled by a single blow depending on where it lands, and even blocking will most likely result in broken bones when the blow hits. Even notably powerful beings like the fiends summoned by Kougaiji and Hakkai in his demon form can't hold their own against him for more than a few moments.
He's able to shrug off most damage if hit, and can draw the energy of the earth to quickly heal himself if he should need to. He can also harness the power of nature offensively and his chi is apparently powerful enough that others can feel it and the malice he radiates easily.
So far only replacing the limiter has really proved effective in stopping him.

Hey! Hey! Wow, this is so cool! I can talk to everyone else this way right? I couldn't wait to try it when they said that!
[Goku hasn't yet figured out that to be seen he needs to look in a mirror. Instead he's looking everywhere else: the couch, the window, the kitchen, inside the refrigerator. A shackled hand comes into view when he opens the oven door.]
Look at all of this neat stuff!
[When he looks at the currently off television his reflection is finally glimpse and he's beaming excitedly despite the shackle and chain that can be seen around his neck.]
So so isn't this place great? They gave us a place to stay and everything.
